Sounds of Singapore

I'm sitting on the banks of the Singapore river enjoying a drink with work colleagues. However I think I just lost my hearing. A local boys group is performing a chinese lion dance complete with dancing dragons, drums, and cymbals. The cacauphony from the cymbals is almost unbearable. My host tells me they are driving away evil spirits. I'm pretty sure that's not all they're driving away.
