Tamarama and Barbequerama

Yesterday, we had a busy day. We spent the morning at Tamarama Beach. Nice weather, but the water was icy at 67 degrees F. It's interesting to compare the beach attire in Australia to California. What's similar is that the women wear both two-pieces and one-pieces. What's different is that the two-pieces are more modest in Australia than the one-pieces are. How? Well that's because the one-pieces were originally sold as two-piece swimsuits, but the top piece is, ahem, missing.

Fortunately for everyone, no critical pieces are missing from the male attire. However the men, boys, and old farts are a little more--how should I say this--streamlined. Board shorts are sadly in the minority.

Later in the afternoon we went to another barbie. We've been to several. Lots of good food (usually) with relaxed and friendly folks. Yesterday was no different. Ann has made a few friends in the local playgroup and we were invited along with a Swedish couple.
