Searching for Jose Gonzalez

Ann and I have continued our relentless search for acceptable Mexican food. We had relatively good fortune in New Zealand, but Australia has largely been a dissappointment. The sauces and salsas have been most imaginative--or lacking thereof. On Friday, we had some good Mexican-themed food at a restaurant in North Sydney. It was a long way from being either authentic Mexican cuisine or inauthentic American adaptations. However it was fairly tasty and filling. I gorged myseld on all-you-can eat fajitas and was satisfied. The restaurant was operated by Eastern Europeans--probably Ukrainians--who have as much in common with Jose Gonzalez as Australians.
